You set the temperature that matters to you. Cool Cue only sends reminders on days when the forecast high actually reaches it — so a mild week passes without a single notification, and you are not training yourself to ignore it.
Then choose when it reaches you. The nightly open reminder can follow sunset — the point the day actually starts giving its heat back — or an hour you pick yourself. The morning close reminder gets its own default hour. Each picker sits directly under the real hourly forecast, so you can see whether an earlier or later hour would serve you better before you choose.

The real numbers, not a promise
Cool Cue shows you the actual hourly forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning, and the highs and lows for the next eight days. It tells you what the air is doing and leaves the decision where it belongs — with you. On a night that will not cool down, it says so plainly rather than telling you to open the windows anyway.
A heads-up before a hot stretch
When a run of hot days is coming, so you can plan, Cool Cue tells you at the start of it — not on the third afternoon when the house has already stored the heat. It names the days, shows the highs, and reminds you to check on the people nearby who may be struggling with it.
And when it turns cold
Cool Cue also watches for a freeze in the eight days ahead. If one is coming, it sends a reminder and opens a short preparation checklist — pipes, outdoor taps, pets, and a plain safety warning about heating a home with anything that burns.
What Cool Cue does not do
Plainly, so there are no surprises:
- It does not know where you are. You type your town in. There is no GPS and no location permission.
- It does not track you. No accounts, no advertising, no analytics, nothing sold. Everything stays on your phone.
- It only measures temperature. It does not monitor air quality, smoke, humidity or pollen — check those yourself before opening up.
- It does not control anything. No thermostat, no smart devices. It sends reminders; you decide.
- It cannot promise a reminder will arrive. Phones get switched off, silenced or lose signal. Please do not rely on it as your only warning.
- It is not a safety or emergency service. The freeze reminders are a convenience, nothing more.
