COOL CUE - DISCLAIMER
Last updated: 5 September 2026
Welcome to Cool Cue.
Cool Cue is a simple weather-alert app. It shows you the real hourly outdoor temperatures and reminds you, at times you choose, when it may be a good moment to open or close your windows to make the most of cool air. That's all it does. You decide what to do — Cool Cue just shows you the information.
Please read this before you start:
- Cool Cue is just a weather-information tool. It is not a safety, emergency, or medical service, and it is not a substitute for official warnings, professional advice, or your own good judgment.
- Only you can decide whether it's safe to open your windows. Cool Cue does not know where you live or what's around you. Whether opening a window is safe — including any risk to your home's security or safety in your area — is always your decision. Some homes and neighborhoods may not be safe to leave open. That judgment is yours, not Cool Cue's.
- Cool Cue does not monitor air quality, wildfire smoke, humidity, pollen, allergens, security, weather hazards, or any other outdoor condition. It shows temperature only. Please consider everything else yourself before opening your windows. And if you start to get cold, close the windows — don't wait for the reminder.
- Reminders may not always arrive. Notifications can be delayed or missed for reasons outside our control — your phone being off, silent, or in Do Not Disturb, no internet, or device settings. Don't rely on Cool Cue alone.
- If you ever feel unwell, contact your local emergency services. Don't rely on Cool Cue for your safety.
WEATHER DATA
Temperatures and forecasts are provided by OpenWeather and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or delayed. Cool Cue presents this information as-is and cannot guarantee its accuracy, availability, or timeliness.
COOL CUE IS A PAID SUBSCRIPTION - WHAT HAPPENS IF IT LAPSES
Cool Cue requires an active subscription. If your subscription ends - because you cancel it, or because a payment fails and is not resolved within the store's own retry period - the app stops working and ALL reminders stop. That includes the freezing-temperature reminders described below. Any reminders already scheduled on your device are cancelled at that point and will not arrive.
Please do not rely on Cool Cue as your only warning for freezing weather, burst pipes, or heat. It is a convenience, not a safety service, and it can go quiet for this reason as well as any of the reasons listed above. Your subscription status is managed entirely by Apple or Google in your device's store settings, where you can also see when it renews and cancel at any time.
NO WARRANTY / LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Cool Cue is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I Called Twice LLC and Cool Cue are not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of the app, from reliance on the information or reminders it provides, or from any decision you make to open, close, or leave open your windows.
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and nothing in it takes away a right you have under the consumer protection law of the country where you live.
FREEZING TEMPERATURE REMINDERS
Freezing temperature reminders are on by default, and you can turn them off at any time in Setup. While they are on, everything else in this Disclaimer applies to them in exactly the same way it applies to our warm weather reminders. Cool Cue is not a safety service, an emergency service, or a weather authority. It shows you forecast information so that you can decide what to do.
How often you will hear from us. Freezing reminders are not continual. When freezing temperatures appear in the forecast, Cool Cue sends one reminder and one follow-up reminder about 24 hours later, and then it stops. It will not remind you again until the forecast has been clear of freezing temperatures for an extended period (about two weeks) and cold weather returns. This is deliberate — the reminders are meant to prompt you to prepare, not to serve as an ongoing freeze watch. Do not assume that silence from Cool Cue means freezing weather is not coming.
Freezing forecasts are especially uncertain. All forecasts can be wrong, and forecasts near the freezing point are among the least reliable of all. A few degrees of error, a clear and windless night, a low spot in your yard, or your elevation can mean your property freezes when the forecast said it would not — or that a predicted freeze never arrives at all. Freezing weather can also appear in the forecast with very little warning. Cool Cue shows third-party forecast data and cannot tell you what will actually happen at your address.
Always follow your local weather authority. Official frost and freeze warnings from your national or local weather service come first. Cool Cue does not replace them and is not a substitute for them.
The preparation list is general information. The suggestions we show are common things people do before freezing weather arrives. They are not advice about your particular home, plants, animals, pipes, or property, and some of them will not apply to you at all. Only you know your home, your health, your animals, and your surroundings. You are responsible for deciding what to do.
We are not liable for damage or loss. Cool Cue is a tool to help you remember to prepare. We are not responsible for frozen or burst pipes, damaged or lost plants, harm to animals, property damage, injury, or any other loss connected with freezing weather — whether or not you received a reminder from us, and whether or not a reminder was accurate. Reminders may be delayed, may arrive at the wrong time, or may not arrive at all, and may be affected by your device settings, your network connection, or your operating system.
Heating your home. Never heat your home with an oven, a grill, or a generator indoors. These can release carbon monoxide, which can kill you. Cool Cue does not monitor indoor air, carbon monoxide, heating equipment, or the temperature inside your home. If you are cold and cannot get warm, please contact your local emergency services.
AND ONE KIND REQUEST
During extreme temperatures — hot or cold — please check on your elderly and vulnerable neighbors. The world is better when we all work together.
